“The place was absolutely dreadful. While most of the staff is great, they are incredibly overworked, and the rest of the staff absolutely drags them down. Easily one of the most isolating experiences I've ever had as an adolescent, and it actively worsened my mental health. There is practically no supplies, and nothings been updated since the 90s, they have no from-home clothing policy like most inpatient services (instead making patients wear bright orange scrubs that look like jumpsuits, with only a scratchy sweat shirt if you're cold and they basically refuse to give those out), they make you do massive amounts of pointless busywork while prescribing medications that don't work, and they hold activities over your head to keep everyone in line (even if you aren't doing anything against the rules). It's honestly little better than prison.”
“First of all I had to enter a star to make a comment! I would give 50 negative stars if I was able!!! My 4 and 1/2 days at this horrific institution ended up with me going against medical advice to free myself from the stress and trauma that I experienced. When i arrived was given no instructions did not visit with medical personnel psychiatrist for 2 days. I was not given my blood pressure medication nor my antidepressants until the third day my bp was 180/98! I witnessed a patient violently punch the tv, he harassed other patients and staff, he brought his mattress out to the hallway leaned it up against the wall in front of nurses/tech station, we went to the gym one evening after all of these outbursts from him and he was never reprimanded nor given consequences. That night he assaulted a fellow patient body slammed him head first onto the gymnasium floor and continued to punch him in the face. We were being supervised by one female technician that was about 5’1 and petite. We were also locked inside the gym with no cameras and no security guards anywhere on property. Finally techs rushed in and apprehended the patient.. the victim was sent to hospital with broken eye socket and several other injuries he pressed charges and patient/attacker was arrested and sent to jail. All of us have been traumatized and very scared to even go to sleep. It is a coed unit with basically no supervision. If you are an alcoholic looking for detox or help. Or if you have suicidal ideologies I IMPLORE YOU DO NOT GO TO CENTERPOINTE!!! I will be contacting Acadia Healthcare that owns CenterPointe .. There is already an investigation in progress for malpractice and neglect/negligence Read more reviews and you will see for yourself. This place needs to be shut down. My prayers go out to all the patients there and mostly to the children/adolescents unit and the silver linings unit And shame on you staff members that treat these patients less than human and with no respect nor dignity. I seriously do Not know how you can sleep at night with the knowledge of what is happening behind those doors!!! Belinda”
“DO NOT SEND YOUR CHID HERE!!! They will not communicate what's happening with your child. They will change meds with out parental concent. They will not return phone calls, the staff is rude and will hang up on you. My child was assaulted by another patient and they did not contact us. They sleep deprive these kids and don't offer any actual help, they just drug them up. The entrance wasn't even locked my mother walked right in the door to drop off clothes on a non visitation day. This place is a horrible do not send anyone there it was a terrible experience for my child.”
“This is not a good place to send your loved ones. My dad was 87 and very confused, he was admitted on Thursday evening and we were told that we could not visit him until Tuesday. I tried several times to get a hold of the nursing staff and the phone would ring and ring and ring. Sometimes I would let it ring for five minutes and no one would answer. We live 3 1/2 hours from the facility and we were worried sick about my dad. The communication at this place is terrible. Finally, I was able to talk to a nurse whose name was Nicole. Nicole was the only one that was helpful. She was very sweet and returned my calls. My dad‘s condition deteriorated rapidly and he was transferred to Boone Hospital where he died 4 days later. I hope and pray that I never have another loved one sent to this facility. It hurts me so that my dad had to stay at this place for three days without us being able to see him. I know he must’ve been so afraid. The employees here need to show a little more compassion and concerned for patients and family members Treat, the patients and family member members like you would like to be treated again. I want to say thank you to Nicole, they certainly need more employees like her.”
